letters to my son . february 2014
My Dear Boy,
I was planning on compiling some of your older photos for this month’s letter but then I decided to use the photos we took at the gardens last Friday because it’s almost Valentine’s Day and you look so adorable in your red sweater.
You gave me the best early Valentine’s Day present one night a couple of weeks ago. You had thrown a tantrum because you didn’t want to go to bed and I had to give you a couple of time-outs before you finally relented. We laid down and you gave me a hug and said “Evan loves Mama” for the first time and you melted my heart.
You are getting better and better at stringing your words into sentences. Some of my favorite phrases you said are: “Come on Mama”, “Evan have some … please”, “Pull, pull, pull” while pulling my hand trying to get me up; and my most favorite “Evan loves Mama”. You finally mastered riding your tricycle, you are getting very good at playing soccer and you are starting to memorize the books that we read to you. You love drawing. Your favorites are drawing fireworks, apple, circle moon and tunnel. While you still need my help to write “D” for Dada you can write “E” for Evan and “M” for Mama by yourself.
Mama loves you too my sweet boy.
Next up is my dear friend Tricia. Please continue on to read her letter to her boys.

Another really beautiful set of images… seriously, gorgeous! I love them all, but the 3rd and 4th ones… LOVE!
Ahhh these photos are BEAUTIFUL! I think it’s amazing, too, how kids learn to speak and write. I notice the same things with my daughters. Sometimes it is a struggle and then there are these incredible discoveries on their part that make you feel so proud. Your photos reflect that same feeling of discovery.
He looks wonderful in red.
